I appreciate Ben Folds as a songwriter and I kinda like some of his stuff since he went solo, but man, there was something simply magical when Ben, Darren, and Robert got together and played/wrote as Ben Folds Five.
I was thrilled to see they got back together for a reunion show and it's playing on Myspace right now as they play their groundbreaking album (aka final album) The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. There's also a lot of insight given up about the band's breakup and conception of this album in between songs.
I recommend watching it:

My memory is simply not good enought to come up with a list, but I'll give you some highlights..
Barenaked Ladies - My old mainstay. A good band still, I enjoy their music quite a lot.
Jason Mraz - Hey, I really like his music. And his most recent album is GODly.
Coldplay(?) - OKay, I don't really like Coldplay. But Viva La Vida is a really good album.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Don't question, theyre just awesome.
Via Audio - Gotta say, I still really like them.
Ben Folds - I *like* most of his stuff, but his new album is great, and the fake leak of his album is better. Find the song 'Waiting For Normal'. Its grrrreat! Also, major props for leaking a fake version of your own album.
Thats like my 'Recent Favorites' list. My 'Actual Complete List' might kill someone, and I just don't have the time to invest in it.
PS - theres a LOT of smilies for this site

I love how he goes on stage sometimes with only his guitar and says "Hi I'm John Darnielle and we're The Mountain Goats". I
Love Love Love him.
