Can someone tell me?

Here's backstory:

I found this band called 'Forgive Durden' (a throwback to Fight Club), who are soon to release an album called 'Razia's Shadow: A Musical".
Their first album sounds like the tripe playing at a Hot Topic, but I've been investigating this new album and it sounds really good AND I DON'T KNOW WHY.
The idea is that the whole album is a cohesive story done in a really kinda-sorta-notreally Broadway thing, with the 'cast' being singers from other bands (Pallis, the 'antagonist', is the lead singer from Panic! at the Disco).

Here's the regular website, the red dots at the bottom are clips of songs that somewhat correspond to the pictures.

Tell me what you think. I'm slightly perturbed.

Also, hard to tell where to put this, here or 8Ball...I put it here. Coz, please move if you want it elsewhere.

The simple answer is, the music is good. It reminds me, at parts, of the band Kaizers Orchestra (one of my favourites). The only thing that would prevent someone from liking it, as far as I can tell, would be "emo" sounding singers and some lyrics that aren't that great. But those are easy to overlook, I don't mind the vocals, and I acknowledge that to write a whole musical, using dialogue as lyrics, not every line is going to be lyrical gold.

So, I don't see any real reason why you wouldn't like it. In fact, I may look up this album.

The protagonist doesn't have a very good voice in comparison to Pallis, at least when they sing together, but it looks interesting....

I don't know. I think they are supposed to contrast so greatly during that part, but I really like his voice in the clip from the official site, the second to last red dot.

Forgive Durden is streaming the entire album on their blog right now. If you seemed interested in it, give it a listen.

My opinion: pretty good musically, some really sucky lyrics, and abrupt 'ending'. Overall, though, I really like it. It's quite an undertaking to try and make a 'musical' and it really has a 'muscially' feel to it.
